2. Wait for your free shipping instructions
Shipping your phone to PhonePayout is free. After reviewing your request, we’ll contact you to confirm your details and provide the mailing address and shipping arrangements.
Wait for those instructions before buying postage or mailing your phone. We’ll confirm the shipping service for your device and location. Keep your tracking information until your sale is complete.
3. Prepare and pack your phone
- Back up the photos, contacts, and other files you want to keep.
- Before shipping, sign out of your accounts, remove activation locks, erase personal data, and remove your SIM card. Tell us if the phone’s condition prevents these steps.
- Power the phone off and follow the confirmed carrier’s packaging instructions. Use a sturdy box and cushioning to stop the phone moving or switching on during transit.
- Include your request reference in the package. Keep passwords, account credentials, and payment details out of the box.
Do not mail a phone with a swollen, leaking, recalled, or damaged battery. Mention battery problems in your request before any shipping is arranged. Used phones containing lithium batteries have carrier restrictions; for USPS shipments, follow its surface transportation and packaging requirements.
4. Inspection, final offer, and fast payment
Once your phone arrives, we inspect its model and condition and confirm the final offer. Payment follows your acceptance of that offer. An online estimate is not a completed sale or a guaranteed final price.
We’ll confirm the payment method and timing when reviewing your request. Ask about any return arrangements before shipping if you’re unsure what happens when a device does not match its description or you decline the final offer.
